🪶 design philosophy

As we see advanced technologies become more prevalent, design must advance with it. My goal is to make sure that the things we make shape our world the right way, so that we can have healthy and happy humans.

I explore the intersection of technology and design, analyze how it influences and shapes human culture, and craft better experiences by applying design thinking and user-centered methodologies.

🎓 education

At Univeristy of California, San Diego, I studied Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, which spans a spectrum of disciplines – including neuroscience, computer science, philosophy, psychology, and design. I love discovering the different angles of how our mind perceives the natural world and exploring the nuances of how it informs our emotions, cognition, and behavior.

I also serve as a teacher assistant for an advanced design thinking course at University of Texas at Austin, mentoring students on the design process as they work on sponsored design projects.

👨‍🔬 research and publication

I spent a summer at National Taiwan University as a lab researcher with the medical bioinformatics department, designing the user interface for medical prediction software and researching bias in artificial intelligence. Later, I contributed to a startup formed by a group of engineers from this department.

At this time, I published a conference paper entitled, “Dynamic Human-Centered Design: Reinventing Design Philosophies for Advanced Technologies”, calling on the need for people involved with tech to consider how the rise of new technology influences lives and culture.
